Homemade natural beauty recipes for handsExpressive, hard working but very vulnerable to all kinds of environmental damage, our hands deserve daily care. Here you will find some easy and useful homemade natural beauty recipes for hands.

The natural ingredients they contain include essential oils which you can easily find in health shops or pharmacies.

Ready a spa like hand treatment at home? These recipes are great for certain hand skin issues such as sagging skin, dry skin, wrinkles and skin irritation.

Precaution Tips for Using Essential Oils

Some of the essential oils that are used in the natural hand care recipes are lavender, neroli, patsouli, geranium, chamomile, lemon, lime, orange, mandarine, grapefruit, pergamonto (my favorite essence,) ylang ylang and sandalwood.

While all of these oils have antiseptic and skin soothing qualities, the citrus essential oils also have skin tightening properties.

Still, a word of warning: the citrus essential oils and especially pergamonto should only be used during the night hours because they are phototoxic and can cause photosensitivity on the skin such as sun spots and severe skin irritation when you expose yourself to the Sun.

Also, never use essential oils on your skin before diluting them in a carrier oil such as almond oil, olive oil or balsam oil because undiluted essential oils can be irritating to the skin.

Use essential oils with caution if you are pregnant or you are breast feeding. If you experience any allergic effects, you should stop their use immediately.

Of course, you can buy essential oils online, just always check that you choose top quality products from trustworthy sources. Some of those oils can be quite expensive for the small bottles that they are contained in but keep in mind that they will last for long since you only need to use few drops.

Essential oils can have multiple uses. Personally, I love using them in body blends, mists and essential oil diffusers.

Natural Recipe for Saggy Hands

Add 2 ml. of balsam oil and another 2 ml. of avocado oil in 30 grams of a fragrance free and pH neutral base cream. Also, 2 drops of lavender essential oil, 3 drops of neroli and 2 of chamomile. Apply to your hands and massage your skin softly with circular upward movements.

Another possible combination of essential oils is 2 drops of pergamonto, 3 drops of lavender oil and 2 of geranium.

Natural Remedy for Tight Skin on Hands and Arms

Grate 10 grams of beeswax, preferably organic, and mix with 40 ml of avocado oil or almond oil. Put the mixture in a bain marie until it melts. Let it cool and then add 5-6 drops of rose water and 10 drops of essential oils.

For a tightening effect, lemon, orange, mandarine and lime essential oils are ideal. Massage the mixture onto the skin, moving gently upwards from the wrists to the shoulders and then downwards but fast.

Deep Hydration Recipe for Hands

In a 200 ml bottle, add 50 ml of rose water, 15 ml of glycerine, 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon of honey and mix well. Then, add 15 drops of essential oils of your own preference.

For me, it is better to use 3 different oils than using too many different oils in a blend.

Preparer another hydrating natural blend recipe for hands by melting a piece of cocoa butter in a bain marie and adding between 3 to 4 tablespoons of jojoba oil. Remove the mixture and let it cool. Once it is cold, add 5 drops of neroli essential oil and another 5 of sandalwood.

Anti-Aging Hand Recipe

To 30 grams of a base cream, add 2 capsules of vitamin E (liquid form,) 2 ml. of sesame oil, which is also rich in vitamin E, 4 drops of myrrh, 4 drops of frankincense, 2 of Chios mastic powder and 3 drops of balsam oil.

Recipe for Skin Irritation and Eczema on Hands

To 30 grams of base cream, add 2 ml. of wheat germ oil, 2 capsules of vitamin E in liquid form, 10 drops of lavender essential oil, 4 drops of chamomile and 4 of neroli.

You can use German chamomile oil since Roman Chamomile essential oil is more expensive. It contains a very soothing compound, azulene, which is also the reason why this oil has a blue color. Nevertheless, it doesn’t stain your hands.

Natural Scrub Recipe for Hands

Create a mixture of sugar with honey and apply to your hands. Massage the skin using gentle movements. Alternatively, you can mix a handful of crushed almonds with a little honey. Using a natural body scrub can remove the dead cells and prepare your skin for better absorption of the moisturizing products that are going to follow.

Anti Cuticle Recipe for Pretty Fingernails

In a bowl, make a mixture using 2 tablespoons of balsam oil and 6-7 tablespoons of lemon essential oil. Dive your fingernails into the bowl and leave them in for 15 minutes. Then, remove and dry well.

You can perform this anti cuticle treatment once every day for a week and then repeat regularly.

In conclusion, the above homemade natural beauty recipes for hands can last you for a little while but if you want to prepare a bigger quantity, you can keep the blends in the fridge in glass airtight jars for even up to 2 months.
