Jojoba oil can be good for dry skin used on its own as a natural skincare product or added to your normal cream. Jojoba oil’s moisturizing, healing and anti microbial benefits for skin make it a valuable natural oil for both oily and dry skin. For my combination skin, jojoba oil is an irreplaceable product in my skincare routine since it keeps my skin more clear and better balanced.
It is not an exaggeration if I tell you that whenever I neglect using it at night to cleanse my skin from makeup, I wake up with a more bumpy complexion so you can understand how stuck I am to it.
But jojoba oil is also beneficial for dry skin. Dry skin has to do with the lack of lipids which results in the poor maintenance of water in the skin.
This condition can be permanent or seasonal due to extreme cold or usage of some heavy chemical cleansers.
It can also appear due to age like during menopause or be the result of more complicated skin issues.
As years pass by, wrinkles and fine lines can start showing up in the dry skin first on the forehead and cheeks a lot sooner than in any other type of skin, resulting in loss of smoothness and elasticity.
Jojoba Oil Benefits for Dry Skin
Jojoba oil has the ability to penetrate deep down the skin, sealing the moisture in the tissues. By having the ability to keep moisture in the skin, it improves the elasticity of dry skin, helping it to be kept hydrated not only on its surface.
This results in a better nourished, healthy looking and soft skin. Also, its similarity to the skin’s sebum make it a very beneficial natural oil which works gently and effectively.
Jojoba oil Ingredients
It contains two valuable vitamins which are B and E. Vitamin B helps retain moisture and make skin smooth while also getting rid of fine lines. Vitamin E works as a powerful antioxidant to give an anti aging effect and is efficient for irritations, helping the skin to find its balance and healthy appearance.
It is also rich in valuable minerals, like zinc, copper and other nutrients which are useful for firming the skin and providing it with some anti fungal and anti bacterial properties. For this reason, jojoba oil for oily skin can be excellent.
For dry skin jojoba oil can be used on its own as I have said before or as an extra ingredient in moisturizing creams or skincare masks.
