Protect Your Skin Now
Proper skin protection should not be taken for granted. If done properly, premature skin aging and other skin conditions could be prevented. As we grow older, especially for women, fine lines and wrinkles will eventually start to appear; it comes with the biology of aging. Anti-aging products and treatments could be used but even if you are still young, it is necessary to start taking the necessary steps to take care of your skin properly. Proper skin care will help your skin support treatments that you might undergo in the future. The better you take care of your skin, the more effective anti-aging products will be.

Causes of Skin Disorders and Premature Aging
Ultraviolet radiation – Some skin disorders cannot be seen or felt right away. They are developed through time and regular exposure to the sun, which produces ultraviolet rays, and other harmful elements in our surroundings. Skin protection from the sun should be exercised as much as possible because the effects of ultraviolet rays on the skin are somewhat irreversible. Using sunscreen could help but it would be best to avoid prolonged exposure.
Ionic Detergents – Ionic detergents contain harsh chemicals or ions that react when dissolved in water. Such substances could also be found in other basic household and beauty products like soaps, shampoo, dishwashing liquids, and so on. Refer to the ingredient guide when buying household and body care products and avoid those that contain substances such as lauryl sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, and their analogs. These substances may cause irritation to your skin.
Hot water and chlorine – Many of us love hot baths but too much exposure to hot water could also be bad for the skin. Soak in warm water instead of hot. On the other hand, chlorine found in pools and tap water could also do the skin damage.
Facial expressions – Facial expressions including squinting and frowning, when made a habit and done repetitively could cause wrinkles and fine lines to appear at an earlier age. Ask people around you if you tend to frown or squint, be more conscious of your facial expressions. Smile more often and avoid too much stress. If your vision is impaired, get glasses or contacts so you do not squint.
Extreme use of makeup and skin care products – Substances found in makeup and basic skin care products tend may irritate the skin in the long term. Take it easy on the makeup especially the eyes and use a gentle makeup remover like oil and petroleum jelly. Long-lasting makeup contains harsher chemicals. Skin care products like toners and cleansers that contain retinoids, vitamin C, and other acids are major causes of irritation. Be extra careful in choosing the right products and always check the ingredient guide to determine which are safe to use. How you use such product s also affects the health of your skin.
Cleansing and exfoliation – Cleansing and exfoliation of the skin should be part of your basic skin care routine but they should be done carefully and not more often than necessary. Cleansing should be done using mild products at least twice a day and do not exfoliate more than once or twice a month.
